There are so many people suffering from diabetes that it has almost become an epidemic in the world today. Diabetes is a disorder which affects the way that your body food for energy.
Whenever we eat something, the sugar from the food that we eat is broken down into simplesmall substance called glucose. Glucose circulates in the body through the blood and enters into the cells with the help of a hormone called insulin. This hormone is producedmade in the pancreas. However, due to genetic predisposition and sedentary lifestyle, the pancreas sometimes can not make enoughample insulin. When this happens, glucose can not enter into the cells and it keeps on circulating in the blood, thus, the person becomes a diabetic.
Diabetes is not really treatable but there are ways on how to control it. There are medications available from the drugstore but there are also ayurvedic herbs for diabetes. Herbs are better by a growing number of people because they are natural, safer, and more economical. But before learning about them, let us further discuss diabetes first.
There are two types
of diabetes: Type I and Type II. Type I means the person can't produce insulin at all, while type II means the person can make insulin but his or her cells have already become resistant to it. Either way, when high levels of glucose retainstay in the blood, serious complications may arisehappen.
Between the two, the second type is relativelycomparatively easy to deal with, although not really something that one could take for granted. 95% of all diabetic patients have type II diabetes. It is easier to control because it may have been triggered by external factors like lack of exercise, obesity, and aging. Meaning, a change in lifestyle may do greatbig wonders and make the person better.
Although there are ayurvedic herbs for diabetes type one like salacia oblonga and pterocarpus marsupium, there are more herbs that are believed to be more useful for type two diabetes. Ayurveda believes that stress and lifestyle are the main causes of many including this type of diabetes.
Here are some of the most ayurvedic herbs for diabetes:
